 Difficult rules & Just ok September 4, 2010

We bought this for our new family game for our vaction, to play at night, or rainy days. (Good thing it didn't rain!) The directions are quite confusing, and the game is sort of monotnous. My son(10) enjoyed building it... but we didn't think it was much fun. I read the other review and it mentioned Lego "how to play" video and I thought I should check it out to see if we were playing it wrong. Well, we weren't so, for the cost I would look for something else. I am sure my son will use the parts to create an adventure!

My 8 year old got this for his birthday along with Minotaurus. He had a great time putting this together but when it came to playing it there was alot of frustration with understanding the rules. I thought surely he was kidding so both my husband and myself read the rules and we couldn't understand them very well either. Considering we both have MBAs and are at least somewhat intelligent I could see why an 8 year old kid would have trouble. Still not to be deterred I went on-line and we all watched the video for how to play the game (thank goodness Lego thought of doing this). This made it a lot easier to understand. Now that we have a general understanding of how to play it is very fun and has become a big hit. Even my 5 year old has caught on. So I gave it an overall 4 only because of the difficulty understanding the rules to start. I am very pleased that Lego has a website dedicated to showing how to play the games for those of us who have difficulty undestanding the rules the way they were written.
